Hidden away on the banks of the Daugava River in Aizkraukle is a new, atmospheric retreat—Atpūta Krastos. It’s the perfect combination of a tranquil retreat in nature, modern comfort, and thoughtful aesthetics.

Atpūta Krastos is ideal for those looking for a change of scenery and time away from the city – whether it’s a family vacation or a romantic getaway.
Atpūta Krastos – comfortable houses
The property features three stylish and modern cottages: Sams, Breksis, and Zandarts. Each has its own atmosphere, but they share a high level of coziness and comfort.

Two cabins are currently available for guests: Sams and Breksis. Zandarts will also be ready to welcome guests very soon. For clarity, Sams can be rented with a sauna, while Breksis comes with a kebbeh.

Why choose the cabin Sams
We chose the Sams cabin for our family vacation. It turned out to be a great choice. I’ll share why!

The house is located closest to the river, offering a truly unique view. The panoramic windows and terrace act as a TV, constantly showing the Daugava! It’s a unique immersion in nature. This is the kind of place where I just want to sit, look at the water, and do nothing.

Interior and amenities
Inside the house, we were met with maximum luxury and complete comfort:
- two separate bedrooms with very comfortable beds (one bedroom with a double bed, and the other with two single beds);

- a cozy living room with a large sofa, TV, and dining area;

- a fully equipped kitchen with appliances (dishwasher, microwave, kettle, stove) and all the necessary utensils for cooking and setting the table (all dishes, cutlery, and glasses are provided);

By the way, it’s very pleasant to cook with such a view from the window!

- bathroom with shower, WC (the bathroom also has a hairdryer and toiletries)

The cabin was very warm, and we could regulate the temperature ourselves. I’d especially like to mention the heated floors in the bathroom – a nice touch, especially noticeable in cooler weather.
Terrace, nature and outdoor recreation

Outside, the cabin features a spacious terrace overlooking the river. It’s the perfect spot for breakfast, dinner, or simply relaxing outdoors. There’s also a grill, a grate, and skewers.

What better reason to have dinner outdoors?

Sauna with a view of the Daugava
Next to the Sams house there is a sauna with panoramic windows offering an equally impressive view of the Daugava.

Inside there is everything you need for a complete rest: shower, towels, aromatic oils and hygiene products.

After the steam room, you can relax on the sauna terrace – it’s easy to disconnect from everyday worries and completely recharge. I’ve tried it myself!

Holidays with pets at “Atpūta Krastos”
Another important advantage is the ability to bring your dog. This was a deciding factor for us, as we were able to take our Marcel with us and not worry about leaving him at home.

Atpūta Krastos is a place I can’t wait to return to. It’s perfect for a family vacation, a romantic weekend, or a relaxing retreat in nature.

If you’re looking for coziness, beautiful views, and comfort surrounded by nature, book one of Atpūta Krastos’s cabins. These locations quickly become favorites!

Additional recreational opportunities at Atpūta Krastos
There’s a ton of fish in these parts! It’s not for nothing that the cabins are named after fish. You can catch these very fish right here. If you have a boat, feel free to launch it and fish. If not, you can fish right from the shore. SUP boards are available for guests during the summer season.
By the way, you can combine a stay at the Atpūta Krastos cabins with a trip to Aizkraukle and the Aizkraukle region. There’s a lot to see and do here, and in the next article, I’ll tell you exactly what’s worth seeing and where to go.
